Strategy, vision and values
Founded in 1898, LSTM was the first institution in the world dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine. To this day, we are driven by a clear purpose to improve health and wellbeing for disadvantaged communities across the globe.
Co-created with staff, our 2023-2028 strategy marks a step up in our ambitions and our activities. It builds on a proud legacy and global reputation for excellence in translational research, education and the improvement of healthcare provision.
We have an ambitious vision to be widely recognised as a global organisation, headquartered in Liverpool. We will deliver world-class research and education, with ย equitable partnerships at the heart of all we do. Working together, we will continue to tackle infectious, vector-borne and neglected tropical diseases, while supporting resilient health systems to improve lives worldwide.
